Becoming a Christian
Becoming a Christian is both easy and difficult, it can happen in a moment but also takes a lifetime.
Christians believe God exists, God loves them and has shown that love in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God’s son. To become a Christian you need to seek God’s presence in your life and receive God’s love. The Spirit of God gives us love, guidance and strength day by day. Having done that God calls us to share that love in the world around us and in the things we do, it becomes a lifelong journey.
If this all sounds a bit confusing and you’re not certain what to do, the best thing is to speak to another Christian, maybe someone you know, or you can contact our minister who will help and can also put you in contact with other Christians.
Christians do not generally live in isolation so they meet in small groups and churches to support one another and to learn from one another. All of us have lots of questions, doubts and sometimes difficulties, but with the support, encouragement and experience of other Christians we can receive God’s love and share it with others in the world.
