Eco Church is an award scheme run by the Christian conservation charity A Rocha UK. It equips churches to integrate environmental care into their faith and practice by assessing and improving their sustainability across five key areas of church life. During our ‘Delighting in Creation’ service on 31 May 2026 at The Square, Dunstable, we made some personal pledges:

·       To think about what I throw away and how I use God’s resources; To invest in sustainable energy use (home, car)

·       To keep looking after the countryside around Dunstable and Totternhoe

·       Saving water for garden using dirty water; Recycling cardboard

·       Recycle more efficiently

·       To be informed/learn more about ways I could keep the environment safer

·        To learn more

·        Eating vegetables

·        Learn more about climate change and its effects

·        Walk more!

·        Put water out for wildlife; Make more ethical purchases

·        Save light; Recycle more

·        Use less water

·        Air drying more laundry where possible

·        To be more informed on how to keep the planet safe

·        To love more and be more compassionate

·        Have less food waste in homes

·        To support ECO-projects that are brought to my attention

·        To learn more

·        To help the bees that have found a home in my garden

·        Recycle more!

·        Walk more and use public transport rather than the car

·        Volunteer as a litter picker

·        Care for water supplies

·        Plan food use better

·        Reuse things as much as possible

·        Reduce the use of the power we use and save water

·        To have less waste, particularly food

·        Recycle; Don’t waste water; Buy food in season

·        Keep up with recycling; don’t throw anything that can be recycled

·        Learn a bit more; continuing supporting Foodbank; help some of the homeless with my pilot

·        Give a helping hand

·        Put rubbish in the bin; help grow plants for oxygen and for food we eat

·        Keep on recycling

·        Less flying, more car-sharing

·        Buy fewer new clothes

·        More trees to be planted

·        Commit to a non-waste life

·        Try to save more water

·        Double the range of Fairtrade products in the house

·        To help out in any way possible – recycling, community work etc.

Let us pray that God will enable us to keep our pledges!!
