Brownies is our section for girls aged seven to ten.

Through regular meetings, special events, day trips, sleepovers and holidays, Brownies learn new hobbies, play music, explore other cultures and get adventurous outdoors. Girls can also extend their knowledge and abilities by working towards Brownie interest badges covering many different hobbies and activities from Science investigator to Circus skills.

Brownies become a member of a Six, a unit with a name such as Badger, Fox, Mole, Squirrel, Hedgehog or Rabbit, and follow a programme called the Brownie Adventure. The name reflects the world of exciting opportunities, challenges and fun ‘THAT IS BROWNIES’.

Our Brownie Pack is run by dedicated volunteers, Leaders, Assistant Leaders and Young Leaders who give their time to see girls enjoy events and activities that they have organised.

The INTERS YOUTH CLUB is part of the Methodist Church, The Square, Dunstable and is run by volunteers.

It has been going for a number of years, with different leaders over that time.

The Youth Club is open to church and non-church young people between the ages of 13 and 16. Meetings are held weekly on

Friday evenings between 7.30-9.30pm in the halls of The Square, Methodist Church, Dunstable unless our programme states otherwise.

There is a subscription charge of £1 per week, unless we have an outing which may cost more.

We have various activities during our evenings some are listed here: we have decorated Masquerade Masks; enjoy our version of Ready, Steady Cook when we challenge four different groups to each work together to cook a main course or dessert dish from a bag of ingredients - a recipe is provided! We also play Giant Monopoly made by one of our leaders, which gets quite competitive. Other nights include: Teams Games Challenge; Quiz Nights; Night Hike’s up local hills; Wide games; Chip Chomp - when we get to taste the various local chippies and rate them to see who’s has the best chips in town! Various out nights include Aquasplash, Ice Skating, Bowling, and Quasar. We also have the usual club nights where we use the snooker tables and PS2 games and Wii games when you get to bring down your own remotes and challenge others to compete on Mario Kart and Dance 2!

There is no waiting list at present, so if you are between 13 and 16, then please contact the Minister who will forward your contact details onto the leaders, so that they can send you the current programme and joining letters. Click here to contact.

A poem by Tino Bunu, one of our young people, which was used at a recent Revelation youth service.

Why is there so much hatred,
Hatred that doesn’t need to exist
Love that needs to exist
And peace that needs to occur.

Why is there not enough joy
The joy to spread with the world
The excitement to share with others

Why are people starving, we question ourselves?
Why is she crying, we question ourselves?
Hurt, pain, suffering, people are dying
What’s going on, we are all crying

Today’s world is full of challenges
Reach out your hands and help each other
No more pain or sorrow
But happiness and joy

Look around the bright side
How much of this world pleases you?
Are the troubles all that there is
Could you help too?
